I'm not sure what you are asking about exactly. But some changes have been for CPA's and Financial Planners requirements. I don't think Planners even needed anything back then. CPA requirements have increase recently in my state. Sarbanes-Oxley or SOX is new. It was brought about to combat corporate fraud. Other new stuff: Reverse Mortgages, 40 year mortgages, 75 month car loans, revised bankruptcy laws.
