- The rich (financialy strong) are big fans of social darwinism. 'Laissez fair' is a governments hands off aproach. The two are very similar. The rich or strong keep getting richer and stronger while the poor or weak are just eliminated. Not being able to sustain there way of life, the working class dwindles and the elite thrive. Thus only the strong survive. The two easily go hand in hand. Now do your homework ;-).
- Social Darwinism teaches that "survival of the fittest" applies to civilizations and class structures as well as to species. A hundred years ago it was popularly believed that the human race was continuously evolving for the better. World Wars, the Holocaust, and other genocides have challenged that view, but for those who believe it, the best government is the least government, hence the wish for laissez-faire policies.
- The concept of "survival of the fittest" is the only thing they share. Social Darwinism is the survival of the fittest in a social system (irrespective of its structure). Laissez-faire is survival of the fittest in an unregulated economic system.
